Aims of the Course
On completion of this course, learners will:
• Know the laws, policies and guidance documents that contribute towards best safeguarding and child protection practice.
• Understand their roles and responsibilities as the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Know how to recognise and respond to abuse appropriately and efficiently.
• Understand the framework for safeguarding and child protection and how best to respond to children’s differing levels of need under the framework.
• Know when and how to share information.
• Know how to take action should they disagree with actions or decisions made.
• Understand the importance of recording and storing information.
